🤯The BIG stories🤯

They’ve only gone and bloody done it again. Are we witnessing a Google killer? Open AI has launched ChatGPT, a large language model trained by AI which can generate human-like text based on input. In simple terms, much like that annoying co-worker, it has an answer for EVERYTHING.

Look it’s not perfect there are many flaws. The answers are not 100% accurate and it’s been trained in a certain pattern to answer questions, similar to the McKinsey SCQA however, have a play around and experience for yourself what the future of search will be. Let’s just hope it doesn’t kill creativity.

PANIC CAREFULLY. Apart from having the most chaotic social media, as well as the best-selling language app Duolingo are pretty good at marketing. They’ve created the ā€˜Museum of Wonky English’, which showcases the funniest mistranslations from Japanese to English.

My favourite? ā€œPlease urinate with precision and eleganceā€ - as if there’s any other way! A great experiential activation in Tokyo, using humour to educate and entertain and grow app usage in Japan.

Last week we said that voice search isn’t going as well as we all anticipated, this week…Is Instagram dying? Are we all over the performative app? Well, in this piece from the Atlantic, they state it’s a begrudgingly necessary app. Like Facebook is to most…

A really interesting piece that actually echoes some of the conversations I’ve been having with friends recently. Ad load is too high, despite following hundreds of people only seeing 2 or 3 posts a day. Is this the price the app pays for influencers pushing perfection?

šŸ¤“Technology & TrackingšŸ¤“

Now, this is a COOL feature. Google Chrome can track the price of a desired product across multiple online stores all at once, with an email slipping in your inbox when the price is right. Similar to their Flight tracker, this could cause a bit of friction with virtual stores…

Especially those sites that concatenate sales information. There’s a lesson in here for marketing, something about P’s? Hmmm, what was it again.
