We all agree that Elon is a bit of a madman right? Advertisers are pulling spend, he threatens to call them out. He let go of 50% of the Twitter workforce only to realise they let go of people they needed, then tried to hire them again. It’s chaotic, but hey, this chaos and ensuing entertainment is driving HUGE audience numbers.

Most people will be rubbernecking, i.e. it’s a car crash and you can’t look away. But, if you are an advertiser and your tolerance for brand safety & suitability is high, could going all in on Twitter right now be a wise strategy? You do need to dodge, duck and dive Elon’s masturbation tweets though - *adds @ElonMusk to blocklist*

In a race to be the first brand to annoy air traffic controllers, increase light radiation to children trying to sleep, and produce a horrible whirring sound 500 drones. Candy Crush has done it! They’ve run the first drone campaign in the world. That’s all that matters and THAT is the real quiz.

To celebrate 10 years of avoiding eye contact on public transport, Candy Crush sent 500 synchronized drones into the night sky of New York to remind everyone that advertisers will do ANYTHING to increase brand awareness.

Oh god, my crypto portfolio is down HOW MUCH?! Wait, and it’s because exchange owners are playing 3D chess? The beauty of a decentralized system ay? Even if you don’t care about crypto, sit back and enjoy the games being played by these leaders.

Story time:

  • Binance (the biggest exchange) was an early investor in FTX

  • As FTX grew & became the main competitor, Binance sells its stake but keeps $2bn in FTX’s token, FTT.

  • Following some bad blood, the Binance owner announces he’s going to dump the $2bn stash.

  • This creates panic selling, which affects VC & Hedge funds like Alameda - they could die.

  • Alarm bells, normal traders withdraw funds ($1BN!) scared of another Luna or Celsius sitch.

  • FTX threatened with going under, Binance sweeps in & saves them buying them.

  • In short, Binance started a rumour, made a threat & ended up buying it’s biggest competitor. 3D chess.

  • UPDATE: Binance didn’t end up buying them & there’s a $10-20bn hole in FTX’s books. Uh oh

  • Crypto markets crash, cheers.
