🏖Things you may have missed🏖
🤯The BIG stories🤯

Okay, I think I need to apologise for my optimism last week on the Meta headset. It’s come to light that Meta's new headset will track your eyes for targeted ads, because nothing says "immersive experience" like having ads follow you around everywhere you go. Meta's new headset is equipped with eye-tracking technology that will analyze your line of sight and use that information to deliver targeted ads, because nothing says "convenient" like being bombarded with ads.
And of course, it wouldn't be a complete package without some good ol' data mining; Meta will also collect data about your viewing habits and use that to sell targeted ads. So if you're looking for a more intrusive, invasive, and all-around annoying way to experience the world, Meta has just the thing for you.

DOG VIDEO, new dance, recipe, dog video! It's hard to get people to pay attention to anything for more than a few seconds. That's why TikTok has launched a new ad format that they're calling "focused view." The idea is simple really, if you can get people to actually look at your ad, you might be able to sell them something sparkly.
Of course, the cynic in me says that this is just another way for TikTok to make money off of its users. But who knows? Maybe this new format will actually be successful in getting people to pay attention to ads. Only time will tell.
😎Cool & Creativ3😎

“OMG HEY SQUAD! Make sure to buy my new vegan tupperware on the link below.” There's nothing that says "I'm a global e-commerce powerhouse" quite like building a fulfillment center in the middle of the United States.
That's the plan for TikTok, as the company plans to build warehouses in the US & branching out to Asia, which will help it speed up delivery times for customers. It's all part of TikTok's push to become a major player in the e-commerce market, interesting when other players like Meta & co are putting a pause on their e-comm focus.
🤓Technology & Tracking🤓

OH FFS, not another one. As if we needed another reason to distrust companies with our personal data, it turns out that they're now using that information to target us with billboard ads, BILLBOARDS. But not to worry, it’s the UK…
Thanks to advances in face detection technology, those billboards will be able to identify us as we walk or drive by and send us targeted ads. So not only are we being constantly monitored, but we're also being bombarded with advertising wherever we go. It's a true nightmare scenario, for those not in the ad industry…
