We need to talk about AVOD, no, no,no. Honestly, I had five or six different headlines for this story. Disney+ announces plans to launch a cheaper ad supported tier - Media buyers everywhere rejoice as they can finally ‘put ads in Disney+ or Netflix’
Launching in the US this year and internationally in 2023, Disney+ will roll out a tiered system.
Similar to Spotify, this lower price point and the tiered system should encourage more to the service following slower growth in 2021
Advertising options are rumored to be similar to that of Hulu in the US.
Stay tuned on this one! What an absolute dream for advertisers. Imagine targeting Finding Nemo fans with aquariums, doors to Monster Inc fans and bathrobes to Star Wars fans. I’m all in!
