The US unsealed documents from last year’s antitrust complaint against AdTech giant Google, and it’s explosive. The case alleges that it systemically skews the working of its’ ad business & there was even collusion with Facebook.

The 173-page complaint alleges that Google & Facebook took to ā€œkillā€ the free market publishers & header bidding, whilst also alleging that the cookie was purposefully killed off to create stronger walled gardens. Google has bit back, stating that it’s ā€œriddled with inaccuraciesā€

  • More power to an individual, who can request for their data not to be shared or used as well as the right to erasure

  • Strengthens protections for children (under 16) using social media

  • Similar to GDPR, companies that fail to comply could face hefty fines or criminal penalties

  • Ensuring data is anonymised
