Things you may have missed🏖
Things You Should Know 👀

Gone in 3 minutes! As much as I love Nic Cage, this is a sequel I think I’ll avoid thanks. TikTok turns up the heat on YouTube & Instagram, increasing the video length that users can post.
And in the same breath, Instagram also denounces itself as a photo-sharing app - pivoting to commerce, video, and messaging. Pretty massive changes in social!

Who would’ve thought that Apple Search ads would see their attribution rate increase by 27%, compared to other networks who’ve fallen 93%?! Everyone, that’s who.
This stinks of anti-competitive behavior. So in a nutshell, Apple stops every network from collecting data on their users which means no attribution for ads. But Apple is able to use said data for their ad products. Seems fair.
Cool Stuff😎

“Want to continue being pumped by a 12-year-old playing with Blackburn? Watch 30s ad now to continue.” The future is bleak for gaming but glorious for advertisers…
Big news from EA as they work with Smite to bring commercials into games. Advertisers everywhere rejoice! And then put money back into TV.

Ever open your Lego’s and hit a brick wall on what to make? Well, fear no more. This AI camera app (of course) is here to help you find what to make.
The future is wild. This use of technology and AI is mind-blowing, absolutely love this! Where was this when I was younger
What we’ve learned📚

“Did you hear about Steve? Apparently, he’s off all social. I know right, how does he function?! How does he know what Kim K had for breakfast?” What can we learn from those who switch off?
“Inside has been praised as a rare decent piece of pandemic-inspired entertainment, but it’s also a nightmare about the internet, a tool we can’t escape and all seem to hate." True. How long until there’s a Dry July for social media? Or better yet, how long until it gathers momentum.
The Nerd Corner🤓

Device ID, IP, ACR, PG, PMP?? CTV is booming, but at times it can seem to be a black box. This article provides a clear and concise look at those burning questions.
How do I target? How can I buy it and how does it work? One to bookmark, for sure.

“OMG Helen, what are we going to do about cookies? What’s our contextual focus?” Yep, a common conversation unfortunately but IAB Australia has you covered with a Contextual Targeting Handbook.
Homing into burning topics such as Attention and also some awesome breakdowns of terminology, plus how it differs from Behavioural targeting.
