Things You Should Know 👀

Just like bad news in Victoria, the Apple changes just keeps on coming. Now that we’ve wrapped our heads around the changes at WWDC and the dust has settled, we’re left scratching our heads for what’s next…
This is an excellent article that focuses on Private Relay and poses two key questions...
Has Apple forced Publishers into having an App🤑
Has Apple closed the open web😮

Jeffrey Bezos! Amazon has told Google to get FLoC’d. As they start to block Google’s Cookieless tracking, right in time for Prime Day too. Chess, not checkers.
Pretty explosive news, one that will definitely cut deep for Google. Could this just be the start of a mass uprising? Or will Google, pay for that juicy cohort data?
Cool Stuff😎

You’ve seen the TV shows, now why not own a Carole Basking crown of flowers? Or how about some Colombian’s finest from Narcos? Netflix to launch show related merch, ofc.
It was only a matter of time. Who’s looking forward to a Netflix amusement park? Ride Pablo Escobar’s Hippo, go to the Upside down or fall down the Staircase.
What we’ve learned📚

Aww, look at Pikachu, such a cutie! He killed HOW many people? And caused HOW many car accidents? And injured HOW many people? The untold cost of Pokemon Go and using apps whilst you’re walking & driving.
Originally I laughed at this appearing in my feed, then I read the paper and damn, I miss Pokemon Go. Kidding. The game led to an estimated $7.3B in damages and 145,632 car accidents, injuring 29,370 people and killing 256... in just 148 days.

“Hey, don’t trust Facebook they’re bad guys, your data is in safe hands now.” Whoooooah! YOU DID WHAT FOR TRUMP? Apple you little scoundrels.
I mean, they were subpoenaed…But still, a pretty explosive article from the NYT - that very much does not suit their current privacy narrative.
The Nerd Corner🤓

Wait. More changes? Ah yes, more revelations and updates from Apple. PCM or Privacy Click Measurement is Safari’s ad attribution, and this in-depth video talks through App to Web - the big change.
And we have more confirmation that the IP address will be blocked to protect from fingerprinting, plus the best explanation I’ve seen of how PCM works in the Safari browser.

Facebook is still bullish on VR, after acquiring BigBox-the Fortnite of VR maker. Ever so quietly building a VR portfolio, that’ll be rife for anti-competitive behaviour in years to come.
Really interesting to see what critics say about this acquisition. VR as a gaming platform has been written off many times, especially if the games involve killing/hurting others.
