Things You Should Know 👀

Ah maaaan! Just when it was looking up. Post Cookie Advertising IDs were dealt another hefty blow, with Google weighing in on the future of Ad Tech. Whilst Amazon looks to launch their own identifier in their ever-growing ecosystem - smart.
Jerry Dischler said in the recent Google Marketing Livestream…“Third-party cookies and other proposed identifiers that some in the industry are advocating for do not meet the rising expectations that consumers have when it comes to privacy”
What we’ve learned📚

“We want to target Gamers.” Okay, we can do that. Are they PC, Console, Mobile, Core or passive? “The spotty, sweaty ones!”
Just like you segment your own (or your clients) audiences, Gaming has evolved from nerds playing MMORPG in their mother’s basement. It’s time to rethink this tactic!

Remember in 2019 when Instagram removed likes and Influencers were miserable? Happy days! Turned out it didn’t really affect the apps numbers, but they did learn a valuable lesson.
Just like when I wear hats, one size DOES NOT fit all! So now, Instagram is offering its users the ability to hide or show likes. Smart.
Cool Stuff😎

“Can I get a sheesh!? This new drop from Instagram is dope AF, must cop.” Alright I’ll stop pretending I’m Gen Z…Instagram launches a new section for Shopping product drops.
Instagram continue to bolster their social commerce offering, turning up the heat for the ongoing battle amongst other apps to become a one-stop-shop for all things, erm shoppable?

Apart from the Futurists, I’m sure no one predicted that we’d have Connected TV spend allocations on our plans. Well, what about in-car advertising?
It’s bound to happen right? We can target in-car audio, why not target in-car entertainment? Of course, it was Ford who patented it…
The Nerd Corner🤓

20% allow tracking globally. You thought it was over, didn’t you? That iOS14 would stop appearing here? Think again, chump. Some very interesting details on the opt-in numbers and ammo for meetings.
No Australian based data, but interesting to see how this rollout is going globally. Apparently, we’re barely past the Early Adopters phase. Has anyone heard from Facebook? Anyone???
