Things you may have missedđ
Things You Should Knowđ

After all the panic of last weekâŠNot knowing what cute cafe to visit in Coburg, not seeing what that witch Meghan has done now or how climate change is a myth - ask yourself, do you feel more at ease? Could this be a good thing for all involved?
IMO, Facebook blocking news is an unintended masterstroke. (Good) Journalism will stop chasing clicks, itâs pushed ABC news to the number 1 app in Australia and it urges businesses to cut out the middleman.

And just like the Texas energy grid, itâs back on. Facebook has resumed service and will flog your feed with News after they flex their muscles with the Aus Government, politely declining the new law.
A pretty pointy statement that says they will allow the news publishers âthey chose toâ back on the platform. The Aus government released four amendments to the media law that say that the new code may not apply to Facebook if it can broker enough deals with publishers.
Cool Stuffđ

Spotify announces plot for world domination. Including an audio network, lossless audio and Q&A in podcasts - I look forward to the DMT chats in the Joe Rogan comments.
Itâs almost as if the SCA LiSTNR app announcement didnât happen, ay? Hard to compete with Spotify with these new additions to their app.

Live in Melbourne and tell me that climate change is fake. I bring an umbrella and SPF50+ everywhere with me. Oh, the article? Yeah, Facebook is adding labels about climate change misinformation.
If you havenât seen whatâs happened in Texas, then I advise you have a quick google. On social platforms, users are claiming that the snow was fake. Oh FFS.
What weâve learnedđ

Oh jeez, even AI has the same fundamental flaws as humans. Feed an AI a cropped photo of a lady and it fills it in with a bikini, for a man? A suit.
I found this one fascinating, nerdy but fascinating. This AI is unsupervised, and clearly crawled the worst side of the internet.

*Clicks no to new terms of Whatsapp*. Emperor Zuck - âYour feeble skills are no match for the dark side.â
Thatâs right, join and give up your data to Facebook or be kicked off. (Itâs a bit more complicated than that, but itâs my TL:DR).
The Nerd Cornerđ€

Just like Fox handing back Spiderman & X-Men. The Trade Desk spins off the Unified ID 2.0 to enable widespread adoption, industry body Prebid will own the keys now.
ICYMI - Unified ID 2.0 is TTDâs email-based alternative to cookies. A smart move to get more companies to utilise this open-source framework

FLoC, Turtledove, Sandbox. Still, confused eh? Well, Iâve dug out a beauty for you. Bookmark this one!
Paul Bannister is one to follow, his work is excellent and makes the complex palatable.
